My favorite recipe for perfect chocolate chip cookies chock full of caramel M&Ms and salty pretzels.
I had an incident with my computer this week and lost all of my pictures. It’s really not as horrific as it sounds– all of my family pictures are backed up on Pass and Facebook. And most of my food pictures are already published on my blog, so those are secure.
However…. I didn’t have the photos for this particular recipe uploaded and waiting for me here on the blog. This one, meager photo is the only one I managed to salvage!
Fortunately, I think it does a pretty good job of displaying the innards of this delectable cookie.
Caramel M&Ms. Have you tried them?? Alone and at room temp, I’m not really a fan. I feel the same way about Rolos. The caramel is just too stiff for me. But I discovered long ago that Rolos are my caramel candy of choice when it comes to baking. Because they start out with such a stiff caramel, it doesn’t get runny when melted. Instead, it’s perfectly gooey. Which made me wonder if these M&Ms would do the same thing when they were baked inside a cookie?
I’m happy to report that they bake up to be every bit as gooey as I hoped they would. Combine that with melty chocolate chips, the buttery richness of my favorite cookies, and the salty crunch of pretzel pieces and you’ve got one mighty fine cookie.
Forgive me for the lack of photos, but enjoy the recipe!
