INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 28 ounce canned peaches, drained
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
INSTRUCTIONS
- Melt the butter in a 9×13 baking dish. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
- Make the batter: whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, milk, baking powder, salt, and egg. Pour the batter over the melted butter.
- Make the filling: stir together the peaches, 1 cup sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Layer the peach filling over the batter (do not stir!).
- Bake for 35 minutes, until golden brown on top and no wet batter is visible.
