Muddy Buddies are one of my all-time favorite treats. Be sure to save this recipe, you won't want to lose it!

Recipe Tips:

  • Be careful when microwaving the chocolate and the peanut butter. It’s easy to burn the chocolate chips, so be sure to stick to 30-second increments and stirring in between heating!
  • Get creative and change things up! This recipe is just the original classic version of Muddy Buddies. But there are so many ways to play around with it. Try adding in your favorite candies or cereal, use a different flavor of chocolate chips, or maybe sub out the peanut butter. I’ve even used popcorn instead of cereal (I recommend using store-bought kettle corn if you do this)!
  • This makes a BIG batch, so it’s great for a crowd 🙂

Muddy Buddies or Puppy Chow

I don’t know a single person who doesn’t go crazy over muddy buddies! Peanut butter, chocolate, cereal, and powdered sugar– what’s not to love?!

prep time: 10 MINScook time: 1 MINStotal time: 11 mins

ingredients

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 8 cups rice squares cereal (Chex)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

instructions

  1. In a large bowl, microwave the peanut butter, chocolate chips, and butter in 30-second increments. Stir in between each time in the microwave until smooth (I only need 1 minute total for mine).
  2. Pour the cereal into the bowl and use a large spatula to gently mix and coat the cereal.
  3. Pour the powdered sugar over the cereal and gently stir to coat.

notes

Try adding a new cereal or candy to change things up!
