A twist on a Christmas cookie favorite with a classic Christmas flavor is a must-have staple for your dessert table this season!

ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup squeezed orange juice
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup AP flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Powdered sugar (to top)
  • Orange zest (to top)

instructions:

  1. In one bowl, sift together cocoa powder and sugar. Then stir in the orange juice.
  2. Beat in the eggs until just combined and smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add and stir this mixture into the cocoa powder mix until just combined and smooth. The dough will be a little sticky and runny.
  4. Cover the dough and refrigerate ideally overnight. If not, chill for at least a couple of hours.
  5. Heat oven to 350.
  6. Scoop chilled dough and form a ball. Place into bowl of powdered sugar and coat well. Place on a greased baking sheet.
  7. Spread dough balls evenly a couple of inches away from each other.
  8. Bake for 12 minutes. Remove and let cool.
  9. Place a sheet of wax paper on a flat surface.
  10. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl for 20 seconds at a time and stir until smooth. Dip one half of each cookie into the melted chocolate and place onto wax paper.
  11. Immediately sprinkle the orange zest onto the melted chocolate.
  12. Let cool and enjoy!
