Ingredients:
- 12 Granny Smith apples
- 12 wooden skewers
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 tsp black food coloring
- 3/4 cup water
Directions:
- Place apples on baking sheet and poke half way down through the apple with the skewers. Prepare another baking sheet lined with parchment paper either greased or buttered.
- Place sugar, corn syrup, water in a sauce pan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Use a candy thermometer to measure temperature and allow mixture to heat till 310ºF and then remove from heat and stir in food coloring until evenly colored.
- Dip apples through the hot candy, let excess drip off, and place on greased parchment paper.
